The Covenant is the strongest, most dependable, and best-guaranteed partnership between God and man. Interestingly, it’s the most comprehensive success package in the entire world. It touches and includes wealth, career, health, marital success, business and investment exploits, marital bliss, long life, leadership, fame, recognition, fulfillment, and so on.It’s remarkable that the Covenant wasn’t initiated by man, but by God Himself, several thousands of years ago. And for decades and centuries, it has always remained a great secret that God reveals only to those who earnestly desire to know and engage it. “The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, And He will show them His covenant” (Psalm 25:14).

In very simple terms, the Covenant is a binding agreement between God and man that specifies the conditions man must fulfill and what blessings God must give him in return, and this deal or pact is confirmed by God’s oath.

God appeared to Abraham when he was 99 and indicated that He wanted to enter into a pact with him. “I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. And I will make My covenant between Me and you and will multiply you exceedingly. And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you” (Genesis 17:1-2,7).

God chose Abraham for the accord for many reasons. He had simple, childlike faith in God; he had a teachable spirit, an obedient heart, and was public-spirited. God also chose him because he would command his children and his household after God. Between Genesis chapter 17 that God told him about his planned Covenant and Genesis chapter 22 that it was actually sealed with an oath, if Abraham didn’t have those attributes, he would have caused God to abort the Covenant.

This is the Covenant as contained in Genesis 22:16-18 thus, “By Myself I have sworn, says the Lord, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son — blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. In your seed, all the nations of the earth shall be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”

The Covenant

God and the Covenant

In thousands of years, God has faithfully kept this Covenant with those who practiced it in the past and with those who still engage it today. Abraham is the father of the Jews. Perhaps the covenant with Abraham has made the Israelites “God’s chosen people”.

Isaac, Jacob or Israel, David, and Solomon were all Jews. Jesus Christ came into the world through the Jewish tribe. Many of the disciples of Jesus and Paul the Apostle were all Jews. The impact of these persons in the entire universe has been very tremendous, expansive and generational.

So a major benefit of this Covenant is that the Seed of Abraham (his descendants) has made so much contribution to the world in terms of science, technology, education, agriculture, commerce, communication, emerging technologies, defense, and so many other areas.

...the Jews

In the modern world, natural Jews have most impacted the world. Albert Einstein, the greatest and most influential scientist of the 20th century, was a Jew. His parents were secular, middle-class Jews (https://www.britannica.com/biography/Albert-Einstein). His theory of relativity forever revolutionized the study of gravity, space and time. Einstein received the 1921 Nobel Prize in Physics for his “services to theoretical physics”, in particular, his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect, a pivotal step in the evolution of quantum theory.Liza Katz writes that “Between 1901 and 2015, 194 Nobel prizes have been awarded to Jews, accounting for 22 percent of all Nobels awarded. In fact, Jews have won more Nobel prizes than any other ethnicity.”

If you consider the fact that then, the population of the world was estimated at about 7.4 billion people, there is no way statistically, the Jews that comprised a mere .2 percent of that number with about 14.2 million, should not have won such a majority of Nobel prizes.

Also writing about Nobel Prize and the Jews, Mark Mietkiewicz (https://www.cjnews.com/living-jewish/nobel-prize-and-the-jews) quoted Wikipedia as saying that, “as of 2017, Nobel Prizes have been awarded to 902 individuals, of whom 203 or 22.5% were Jews, although the total Jewish population comprises less than 0.2% of the world’s population. This means the percentage of Jewish Nobel laureates is at least 112.5 times or 11,250% above average.” Could we say that this is a part of the fulfillment of the prophecy, “In your seed, all the nations of the earth shall be blessed?”
How have the Jews kept their part of the bargain or covenant?
